Carolingian Empire

 Charlemagne (c. 747/748 – 814) was the King of the Franks and later became the first Holy Roman Emperor. A member of the Carolingian dynasty, he ruled the Frankish Kingdom from 768 and was crowned Emperor by Pope Leo III in the year 800. He is considered one of the most influential rulers of medieval Europe.
